In 2019, Precision Surfacing Solutions purchased the wafer slicing equipment division from Meyer Burger including the service business. The company in Gwatt in Switzerland is specialized in the development and manufacture of machines for cutting hard and brittle materials. The roots in slicing equipment are dating back to 1953, where first equipment has been designed and manufactured for the Swiss watch industry. Over the years Meyer Burger delivered cutting tools such as Annular Saws, Inner Diameter Saws, Band Saws and Multi Wire Saws in various markets. Today, PSS with Lapmaster Wolters is a leading supplier into the Semiconductor, Sapphire, Silicon Carbide and Solar industry and offer our equipment and services over the worldwide network of the PSS group. The products are known for their durability, precision and low operating costs in daily use.
